Mrs. Bess Lybrook Kitchell, 79, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louise Conn, in Royal Center. She had been in ill health for soon time.

She was born in Young America on March 6, 1882 and was the daughter of Dr. William and Adda (Hewitt) Lybrook. Her marriage on Sept. 15, 1910 was to Everett Kitchell, who died December, 1955.

Mrs. Kitchell was a charter member of the Naomi White Shrine in Logansport, a 60 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Young America and a member of the Christian Church at Young America.

A graduate of Central Normal college at Terra Haute, she had taught school at Walton and Young America.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Conn, of Royal Center and Virginia Reutebuch, of Rt. 2 Walton; one son James James E. Kitchell, of Royal Center; two brothers, Dr. D. E. Lybroo, of Young America, and John C. Lybrook, of San Francisco, Calif.; one sister. Mary E. Kitchell, of Walton; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Three brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison funeral home in Royal Center. Friends may call after noon Tuesday. Burial will be in the Young America Cemetery.
