Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Mercer E. and Anna Mary (Peirce) Gibson.
Nancy was a graduate of Millis High School in Massachusetts, class of 1960. After high school, she proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1963 as a Hospital Corpsman.
Nancy kept herself active in her spare time. She had a passion for genealogy. Nancy was also an avid reader of books and maker of counted cross stich pieces. She enjoyed putting puzzles together and she relaxed by listening to music. Nancy was a long-time member of Grandview United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Y. Shifflett, and husband James, of Quarryville; granddaughter, Amanda Kuenzli, of New Holland; grandsons, Michael and Jason Shifflett, of Quarryville, and Daniel Tanner, and wife Julia, of Branson, MO; and great-grandchildren, Trevor and Rylea Kuenzli, and Gabriel and Willow Tanner. She is also survived by nieces, Amy Spadano, Sarah Glenfield, and Kate Sussman; and a nephew, Stephen Glenfield. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Jeanne Glenfield, and a brother, Dietrich Gibson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019, at Grandview United Methodist Church, 888 Pleasure Road, Lancaster, PA 17601, with a time of visitation at the church from 10 – 11 a.m. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
