Aaron Keith Mattox, age 28, of Paris, Kentucky, departed this life on June 16, 2019, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington, Kentucky, after an extended illness with ALS. He was born in Georgetown, Kentucky, on January 30, 1991, the son of Bryan Mattox and Tammy Griffin Mattox. He was a 2009 graduate of Bourbon County High School, attended Eastern Kentucky University and was a member of Bedford Acres Christian Church. He loved to hunt, ride four-wheelers and golf and was a University of Kentucky basketball fan. Most importantly, he loved to be with his family and friends and enjoyed making them laugh. He was also an honorary firefighter with the Paris Fire Department and loved spending time with his two special Schnauzers, Ellie Mae and Cap.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Peggy and Ronald Mattox. Besides his mother, Tammy Mattox, and grandmother, Elsie Griffin, he is survived by his: father, Bryan Mattox; half-brother, Logan Mattox; half-sister, Peyton Mattox; special aunt, Cindy Mullins Taylor; special friends, Chris Baxter, Jimmy Williams and Jeremy Ishmael; and several uncles, aunts, cousins and other special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Bedford Acres Christian Church, with Rev. William E. Singleton officiating. Interment will follow in Paris Cemetery, with casket bearers being Chris Baxter, Jimmy Williams, Jeremy Ishmael, John Soper, Shawn Smith and Mike Mullins. The family requests guests to call between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at Bedford Acres Christian Church.
