MRS. JOSIAH CHAMPLIN
BRADFORD - Mrs. Mary E. (Dora) Champlin of 12 Hill St., who had been a resident of Bradford for the past 20 years, died at 5 p.m. Monday (Aug. 21, 1961) at the Fairview Rest Home, where she had been a patient the past five weeks.
Mrs. Champlin was a practical nurse. She was born Feb. 22, 1895, in Little Genesee, N.Y., the daughter of the late Abbott and Julia Coon Baxter. She was married in 1941 at Allegany, N.Y., to Josiah Champlin, who died in 1957. She was a member of the Salvation Army for 40 years.
She leaves two step-daughters, Mrs. Loraine Hamilton, Bolivar, N.Y., and Mrs. Ethel Lananger of Shinglehouse; a step son, Lawrence Champlin, Olean; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Baxter, and a sister, Mrs. Ida Eaton, both of Olean.
Friends may call at the Hollenbeck Funeral Chapel starting at 7 p.m. today and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 24, 1961) at the Hollenbeck Funeral Chapel. Brig. Edwin Payton, of the Salvation Army, will officiate. Burial will be in Little Genesee, N.Y. Cemetery.
