Mrs. Penn died on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born December 9, 1952, in West Palm Beach, Florida to Rev. John T. Adams, Jr. and Carolyn Whipple Adams. Susan was a graduate of the University of South Florida and did her graduate study at the University of Alabama. As an elementary school teacher for 31 years, 30 of those years were at Crestline Elementary, where she helped educate students in the fourth grade. She was a member of the Pilot Club, a member of Mensa International and was a handbell ringer for the Adult Handbell Choir at First Methodist Church of Hartselle, where she was a member for a number of years. She was a very loving wife, mother and sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Ken Evans.
Survivors include her husband, H. Franklin Penn; one son, Charles Bracken Penn; one daughter, Caryn Elizabeth Penn; three sisters, JoAnn Evans, Kathy Evans (Earl) and Jane Kirby (Dr. Charles Kirby); brother-in-law, Charles Penn (Sharon); sister-in-law, Beverly Penn Waldrop; nieces and nephews, Denise Evans, John Kirby (Kelly), Tim Evans (Kris), Katie Kirby Seymore (Jeff), Beth Anne Kirby Cormann (Gary), Blake Penn, Shanon Penn, Bobby Bowen (Linda) and Stephanie Henley (Warren).
