Funeral services for Beverly Bayne, age 83, of Meadow Grove, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek, Nebraska. Rev. B.J. Fouts will officiate, with burial in Lutheran Cemetery in Meadow Grove.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Beverly died Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska.
Beverly Jean Bayne, daughter of Merrill and Mae (Schoonover) Jewell, was born April 16, 1936, at Concord, Nebraska. She attended Dixon Public School in Dixon, Nebraska. On January 19, 1954, Beverly was united in marriage to Lowell Bayne of Coleridge, Nebraska at Pipestone, Minnesota.
Beverly and Lowell first lived on a farm near Coleridge and then moved to Lindsey, Nebraska where they lived on a farm for two years. The couple then moved to Meadow Grove, Nebraska where they now resided. Beverly attended Norfolk Junior College and later Wayne State College and received a Master’s Degree in education in 1977. She taught four years of country school and then 28 years as an elementary school teacher at Battle Creek Public School before retiring in 1995. Beverly and Lowell had spent their winters in Donna, Texas since 1998. She enjoyed camping, fishing, sewing, and being with her family.
Beverly is survived by her sons, Douglas (Christy) Bayne of Meadow Grove, Nebraska and Terry (Donna) Bayne of Norfolk, Nebraska; daughter, Kristen (Brad) Hassler of Vacaville, California; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Gerald (Florine) Jewell, Clyde Jewell (killed in World War II), Arthur (Ila) Jewell, and Max (Winnifred) Jewell; one sister, Helen (Paul) Peterson; and niece, Peggy Neram.
