Before coming to Florida, Mr. Scharett had been in funeral service for over forty years and owned and operated Funeral Homes in Albion and Holley, N. Y. Ken was a Veteran of World War II with service in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, was past master of the Masonic Lodge in Albion, was past president of the Chamber of Commerce of Albion and a member of Albion United Methodist Church. He retired to Florida with his wife in 1973, and has resided in Venice since that time.
He is survived by his son Lt. Col. (Ret.) David E. Scharett of Fredericksburg, Va., and daughter-in-law Mary Ellen (Wagner) Scharett; sister-in-law ,Rhea Bower of Hudson, Ohio; three granddaughters: Christine Scharett of South Riding, Va., Laura Allaire of Lexington Park, Md., and Melissa Miller of Annandale, Va.; several nieces and nephews.
