Mary A. Barron
1941 - 2018
RANDOLPH - It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to an extraordinary woman. Mary A. Barron, 76, of Randolph, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, after short illness. She was born in Eagle Lake, Maine, on Dec. 29, 1941, the daughter of the late Levi L. Ouellette and Laura (Doustou) Ouellette.
She was a 1960 graduate of Bulkeley High School in Hartford, Conn. On Sept. 10, 1960, she married her soulmate and love of her life, Paul (Baron) Barron. Together they shared 57+ years of marriage.
Mary worked at G. Foxx Department Store in Hartford, Conn. for several years. With the birth of her children, she took on the greatest career of all as a stay-at-home mom caring for her beautiful children.
In 1976 the family moved to Maine and resided in Hallowell until 2002. Over the years Mary worked for the Augusta hospital, Key Bank, Maine Automobile Dealers Association and Gardiner Savings Institution in Gardiner where she created many friendships with her customers until her retirement in 2008.
Mary loved to play games for hours. She and her husband Paul enjoyed camping and going dancing with friends. Mary was a wonderful cook and looked forward to holidays (especially Christmas), holiday dinners and cookouts with family. Mary cherished her family and made sure they knew how much she loved them every time she saw them. We never once questioned her love for us. Her warm hugs, laugh and smile will be missed by all. There truly are no words to describe all of her wonderful qualities.
Mary was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Maxine Ouellette and Celia (Ouellette) Tremblay, her brother, Levi E. Ouellette; and her nephew and Godson, Gregory Plourde.
Mary is survived by her husband, Paul F. Barron of Randolph; her daughter Julie M. Pelletier of Pittston, her son Stephen M. Barron and his wife Kris of Gardiner; her "three beautiful granddaughters" Carly Pelletier and her fiancé Trevor Ward of China, Renee Barron and Allison Barron of Gardiner; her brothers Maurice Ouellette of Connecticut and John P. Ouellette of Maryland, her sisters Virginia Poe of Florida and Betty Guth of Connecticut; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her good friends, Shirley Killoran and Patricia Smith of Connecticut.
We wish to thank the staff at MaineGeneral and Glenridge for all of their kindness and professional care Mary received the short time she was there.
Visiting hours will be on Saturday, April 21, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, from 2 to 4 with a service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to:
