Elaine E. Loyd, 93, of South Bend, IN passed away at 4:35 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Sanctuary at St. Paul. She was born on January 29, 1926 in South Bend, IN to the late William and Mildred (Harris) Runyan. On July 1, 1944 in New Orleans, LA, she married Carl E. Loyd, who preceded her in death on August 29, 2012. She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, David Runyan and William Runyan.
Elaine is survived by her two daughters, Pamela (Douglas) Whitmer of Granger, IN and Michele A. (John) Spear of Buchanan, MI; son, Craig (Tina) Loyd of Plymouth, IN; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Elaine was a lifelong resident and was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
