George S Taylor. A pioneer Oregon railroad man, died May 17 in Philadelphia, where he had been engaged in the banking business with his nephew, Percy Chandler, since his retirement from the railroad business. He was born in Philadelphia and came to Portland in the early '80s as a ticket agent for the Oregon Navigation company, which then had its ticket office at the old Ash-street dock.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs Mary Cox Taylor, who resides at the family home on the Willamette river near Milwauke. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Philadelphia.
