David Archer, who was born in Lowville in March, 1824, and passed his entire life in this town, died of pneumonia Tuesday morning. Mr. Archer was a farmer by occupation, a good citizen and his death is lamented by a large circle of friends. The deceased had for many years been a member of the Methodist church. Mr. Archer was a son of John and Naoma Chatman Archer, and was the last surviving member of a family of thirteen children. In 1847 the deceased was united in marriage with Miss Mary Jones. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Howard Wakefield, Mrs. Joseph Merz and Mrs. W. F. Stephens of Lowville, and three sons, Herman and Howard Archer, of Lowville, and A.B. Archer, of Blossvale. The funeral services will be held from his late home today, Rev. Albert P. Palmer, paster of the Methodist church, officiating. The interment will be made in the East Road cemetery.
