L. Duane Talley, age 66, a resident of Big Lake went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Skagit Valley Hospital.

Born on November 4, 1943 in Bremerton, WA, he was a son of Louie and Velma Talley.

The family moved to Sedro-Woolley and then to Big Lake. Duane graduated from Sedro-Woolley High School.

His employment included Stokley Van Camp, Washington Bulb Farm, and Big Rock Grocery.

Duane attended the First Baptist Church of Sedro-Woolley.

His interests included hunting, fishing, archery, gardening and camping. He loved all outdoor activities and animals.

Duane is survived by his mother, Velma Talley Mason and stepfather Orman Mason of Big Lake; one brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Paulette Talley of Stanwood; nephews, Derek and his wife Brittany Talley of Stanwood and Devin Talley of Stanwood; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louie Talley in 1978, and one brother, C. Michael Talley in 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Sedro-Woolley. A reception will follow. Burial will take place at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington.

In lieu of flowers remembrances are suggested to First Baptist Church, 511 State Street, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.
