Mr. William Henry Carpenter Jr., better known to his loved ones as "Bo", age 56 of Bristol, VA, unexpectedly went to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 29, 2019.

Bo was born to William Henry Carpenter, Sr. and Mrs. Linda Lou Hope Carpenter in Sweetwater, TN on September 6, 1962. He grew up in Niota, TN with his older brother, Tony and younger sister, Kimberly.

After graduating from McMinn County High School, Bo spent time working at the Athens Table Company. In addition to having developed a great work ethic on the family farm, he exhibited great pride in the job he did as he began his 36-year long career as a professional truck driver; and logged over two million miles, accident free. Six of those years were spent driving as a team with his wife, Tammy. In his free time, Bo was an avid biker and enjoyed camping and being on the lake with those he loved. Bo traveled to many beautiful places and made many wonderful friends that he had a unique gift to make feel like family.

He retired two years ago and was enjoying life with his family. Bo also found great joy in caring for his mother-in-law, Gerlene Carter and her sister, Irene Wampler of the home.

Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his parents Bill & Linda Carpenter.

Bo is survived by his loving wife of over 26 years. He also leaves behind two sons and one daughter-in-law, Poppy's precious granddaughter of Rosedale, VA; "adopted" son, of Jonesborough, TN; brother and sister-in-law; sister and brother-in-law; special cousin and wife and several loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Bo was also very close to his brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as maintained frequent contact with many of the life-long friends he made as he traveled throughout his career and his life. A host of loving friends and family will also miss him always. As a follower of Christ, Bo leaves a legacy of unconditional love and service to others. Bo's smile will always shine in our hearts and his memory will live on through all the lives he touched.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home in Bristol, TN. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home with Brother Matt Boone officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice in Bo's honor. You may also bring your favorite written memory of Bo for a memorial table that will be available for his family.

Arrangements especially for Bo and his family have been made through Oakley-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory.
