Methodist Minister
Moved to Comanche, Texas to be the head of the Comanche College.
Within a month after his son shot Deputy Webb, they left Comanche and went to Hill County. (ca. June 1874)
Benjamin Watson Hardin is not the father of James G Hardin or the wife of Martha Patsy Barnett.
Benjamin Watson Hardin and Benjamin P. Hardin were second cousins and migrated to the same area in Texas from Tennessee.
Benjamin Watson Hardin only had three daughters. He was married to Adelia Coleman. This is per State of Texas records, as he was a Senator.
Benjamin P. Hardin, Sr was married to Martha Ann Patsy Barnett and are my GGGG grandparents. There has always been conflation of he lines, particularly before the easy access to records. A lot I think has to do with people trying to show kinship to JWH, the outlaw. James Gipson Hardin was the youngest son of Benjamin P. Hardin and Martha Patsy Barnett.
