Morgan Lauck Boyers was born to Jacob Boyers (1782-1836)and Elizabeth Lauck (1787-1862). Morgan's grandfathers, Leonard Boyers and Simon Lauck, had both served in the American Revolution. By the time Morgan was 9, his parents had moved to the Western Division, Monongalia, Virginia which became West Virginia in 1861 when the area separated from Virginia. When Morgan was 27, he married Juliann Elizabeth Bright who was then only 16. By 1850, Morgan was serving as Methodist Clergy and he and Elizabeth had a family of six children.
On Oct. 30, 1853, Juliann gave birth to a baby girl which they named Martha L(most likely Lauck) Sadly, baby Martha died three days later, and Juliann died on Nov.5, 1853.
A few years later on 26 April,1858 Morgan married Matilda Scott. This marriage produced one son, David Scott Boyers, who at just six years old died of Diphtheria.
In his life, Morgan served as Methodist minister, Justice of the Peace, merchant, farmer, and School Commissioner.
Morgan died Feb. 22, 1892 in Jimtown, Monongalia Co., West Virginia.
