A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints located at 555 Boyd Rd., Pleasant Hill, California at 1:00pm for Fred Roderick Davis, 79. Fred passed away January 9, 2011 in Pleasant Hill, CA.

Fred was born on December 11, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a long time resident of Pleasant Hill having retired from UC Berkeley as a Supervising Purchasing Agent. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed stateside.

Fred was a gifted oil painter and wood craftsman. He was very quiet and calm by nature and loved the outdoors. Fred was a lifelong member of the LDS Church. The family expresses sincere appreciation for the loving care given by those at the GLCS Home of Pleasant Hill, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roderick Davis and Margaret Paramore Davis. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Strand Davis of Pleasant Hill, CA and 1 son, Bryan (Terry) Davis of Concord, CA. He is also survived by 1 brother, James T. (Jane) Davis of Livermore, CA and 1 sister, Diane McDowell of Gridley, CA; 2 grandchildren Laura Jo (Richard) Kessler and Lindsey Davis, all of Concord, CA.

Bishop Michael Fotheringham of The LDS Church in Pleasant Hill, CA will officiate at the service. Private inurnment was held. Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel (530) 846-2138
