She was a life member of Ferry Road Friends Church and was formerly employed as a secretary with the Danville Public Schools.
Algie was also predeceased by nine brothers, Vincent, Walter, Tim, Sam, Henry, Herman Buford, Glenn and James Eanes and two sisters, Ada Holly and Essie Harville. She is survived by two sons, Jerry K. Oakes (Sarah) and Dennis L. Oakes (Lynn); four grandchildren, Maggie Oakes, Stephen Oakes, Scott Oakes and Brett Oakes; one great grandchild, Everly.
Burial will be at Highland Burial Park.
