Paul Warren Trainor (Major, U.S. Army, Retired) began his march to Heaven on July 3, 2019 following 94 years of love and devotion to his family, country and community. He will joyfully reunite there with his wife Robbie Alberta (Kirby) Trainor, parents Helen Pauline (Nagle) Trainor and Thomas John Trainor, granddaughter Lauren Moore, and great grandson Samuel Moore.

He leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby (Carron) Trainor; daughter and son-in-law, Helen (Polly) Trainor (Mac) Moore; four grandchildren Darrell (Dianne) Moore, Chris (Haley) Trainor, David (Kristie) Trainor & Paul Moore, three great grandchildren (Jackson, Linley and Abigayle Moore) along with countless other relatives and close friends.

During his lifetime he served his country retiring after 21 years in the Army Medical Service Corps.; followed by another 25 years as Assistant Administrator at what was previously Franklin County Hospital and Administrator of the nursing home associated with the hospital.

Paul was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and community volunteer. He loved music, enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and watching television. The last 55 years of his life were spent in Winchester. Over those years he was actively involved in Rotary, American Red Cross Blood Drive and Service to Military Families, Auxiliary Police, Civil Defense, the Franklin County High School Rebel Pride Marching Band, Emergency Management, and provided a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was a longtime member of the Winchester Church of Christ where he served in a number of capacities as well as a deacon and elder for many years.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Winchester Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with members of the Winchester Rotary Club and Elders and Deacons of the Winchester Church of Christ serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and management of Southern Manor Living Centers of Winchester, Avalon Hospice of Winchester and Dr. Sherri Walker and staff for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Rotary Club of Winchester, American Red Cross, Franklin County High School Band Backers or Winchester Christian Academy.
