Fayrene was born June 20, 1942 in Parker, Pennsylvania. She was a daughter of the late Blair and Dorothy A. Snyder Fross.
She was married to Stanley A. Gardocky Sr. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 2010. They were married for 27 years.
Mrs. Gardocky was of the Methodist faith and attended Independent Methodist Church.
Fayrene was a graduate of Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School, class of 1960.
Mrs. Gardocky retired after several years as a school bus driver for the Laurel School District. She also worked as a cashier at Kmart and a general laborer at the former INMETCO in Ellwood City.
Fayrene was an auxillary member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Elks Club, and VFW Post 315.
Mrs. Gardocky enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Spain and Paris, France. She also enjoyed bowling and going on trips to Las Vegas. She was a Pittsburgh sports fan.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Fayrene is survived by three children, David (Donna) Dehart of Hartland, Wisconsin, Bryan (Jill) Dehart of Beaver and Brenda (Michael) Motto of New Castle; five stepchildren, Stanley Gardocky Jr. of Poland, Ohio, Deborah Regan of Portsmith, New Hampshire, Christine Lewis of Gold Canyon, Arizona, Gregory (Christine) Gardocky of New Castle and Paul (Tricia Mrkich) Gardocky of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Myrna Sabich of Parker, Pennsylvania, and Patricia Price of Franklin, Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley A. Gardocky Sr.; brother, Leonard Fross; and three sisters, Peggy Miller, Joan Sokol and Sharon Kelly.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Fredrick Gilbert, pastor of the Independent Methodist Church, will officiate.
Entombment will be in Castle View Mausoleum.
