Wilmanette was united in marriage to Henry Spykerboer on January 5, 1951 in Luverne, Minnesota. They made their home on the farm and raised their five daughters. Hank passed away August 15, 2007. Wilmanette stayed on the farm until September of 2013, when she moved to the Rock Rapids Health Centre. She was a member of the Rock Rapids Christian Reformed Church for 67 years.
Wilmanette was a hard-working farm wife who enjoyed embroidery, baking, reading recipe books, and watching and feeding the birds. She enjoyed her four trips to the Netherlands with her husband, and traveling to California to see her sisters. Her grandchildren always enjoyed her pumpkin bread, cookies, cherry pie and barbeque. She will be remembered for her enjoyment of farm life, and being a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 5 daughters, Wanda Parker of George, IA, Nyla (John) Sohl of Luverne, MN, Twyla Lindemann of Rushmore, MN, Sandra (Dave) Lamfers of Sibley, IA, and Janice (Dwayne) Heikes of Sibley, IA; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette Lems of Doon, IA, Priscilla Spykerboer of Rock Rapids, IA; and sister-in-law, Audrey Kelderman of Rock Valley, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Tena; husband, Henry; 6 brothers, Al, Hank Jr., Lawrie, Don, Alvin, and Walter in infancy; 4 sisters, Wilma, Caroline, Tena, and Dorothy; sons-in-law, Jim Parker and Roger Lindemann.
