Mrs. Clara Alice Buchanan, 81, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at her home.

The funeral service will be at 1pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Rev. D.C. Horne officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.

Born in Rio, IL, Mrs. Buchanan was the daughter of the late Perry Evans and the late Fern Higgins Evans. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Buchanan and her son, Timothy Buchanan. She was a US Air Force veteran. She was a secretary for Springs Industry and retired as secretary of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she was also a member. She was involved with the adult and children's choirs, was a Sunday school teacher, was very active in Women of the Church where she received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and she started the Prayer Shawl ministry which she continued until her health declined.

The family would like to thank the staff, doctors and nurses at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House for the loving care given to Mrs. Buchanan.

Surviving are her daughters, Susan Miller (Arne) and Phyllis Parker (Kevin), both of Rock Hill; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brothers, John Evans (Joyce) of Erie, IL and Arthur Evans (Sherri) of Fort Mill; and her sisters, Patricia Rohs and Phyllis Kraklow, both of Port Byron, IL.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Buchanan's name to Covenant Presbyterian Church, Choir Fund, 1830 Celanese Road, PO Box 36818, Rock Hill, SC 29732 or to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
