Elizabeth "Lovey" Mattas departed this world surrounded by her family and loved ones. Lovey graduated from Wasson High School in 1982 and went on to a nursing career where she spent 30 years reaching a countless number of people with her love and warmth. Her light shined the brightest during her time as an ICU nurse at Memorial Hospital where she comforted family members during their darkest moments. She had a smile that would light up a room and a warmth and gentleness towards others that made everyone feel like family. Her passion for caring for others was only superseded by her love for her family. She loved being with her family and helped create everlasting memories during vacations, family gatherings, and tender moments.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her father James Albert Steere and brother Paul G. Steere.
She is survived by her spouse of 33 years Daniel N. Mattas, her 4 children, Adam, Rachel [Lucas Vezey], Julie, and Daniel, her grandchild Hayden, her mother Elaine Terrell Steere, and brothers David Steere [Vicky Ramsey] Daniel Steere [Maureen Dombek] and nephews Daniel C. Steere and James N. Steere.
