Graveside services for Bessie M. Bell will be held at at noon June 19 at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Bessie was born on Aug. 16, 1928, in Frosa to Leslie and Eliza Slay.

She liked to grow flowers, and she was known for her love of her family. Bessie was considered the matriarch of her family. Bessie passed away on June 13, 2019, at her home in Dallas, surrounded by her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Leslie and Eliza Slay; husband Henry Bell; sisters Mary, Alberta, Lillie Bell and Marty D; brothers J.J. Busby, L.C. Busby and Clyde Slay.

Bessie is survived by her son, Kenneth Bell; granddaughter Kitty Miller, who devotedly cared for Bessie for the past 20 years; nieces Margetta Mallett and Princess Hunger; nephews Ivy Douglas and BeAver Douglas; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Sandra Clark Funeral Home in Dallas.
