Frank C. Epperly, a retired supervisor of laundry operations at San Quentin Prison, died in his San Rafael home yesterday,

He had been under a doctor's care for a heart condition.

Epperly, 78, a native of Santa Margarita, had lived in Marin County 29 years, residing most recently at 108 Marin Street.

He was a member of Fairfax Lodge 556, Free and Accepted Masons, Marin Pyramid 31 AEO Sciots, Redwood Shrine 102 of the Order of the White Shrine, Retired State Government Employees Association and the Marin Branch, American Fuchsia Society.

He is survived by his wife, Ida; 3 daughters, Mrs. Frances Foster, Mrs. Minnie Randolph, and Mrs. Ida Mae Hobbs, all of San Rafael; a sister, Mrs. Anna Hoequist of Orlando, FL; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of the Hills, San Anselmo, under the auspices of Fairfax Lodge 556, /F&AM. Burial will be private.
