OBITUARIES: "SPENSLEY - At the home of her daughter, Mrs. M.O. Wall, on Jan 31, Mrs. Alice Geraldine Spensley, aged 77 years. Funeral at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.W. Snyder, conducted by Rev. C.H. Searles; burial at Coddingville."

"Mrs. Alice Spensely passed away very suddenly, Sunday night, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mort Wall. Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.W. Snyder Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial at Coddingville cemetery."

"MRS. J.W. SPENSLEY - Alice Geraldine Droman (sic), adopted child of Barney and Delila Droman (sic), was born in Hillsdale county, Mich., Feb 2, 1849; died Jan. 31, 1926, at the age of 77 years. At the age of four years, she came with her parents to Ohio. With the exception of two years, one in Kansas and one in Cleveland, she spent her entire life in Sharon and Granger townships. On Feb. 27, 1872, she was united in marriage to James W. Spensley. To this union was born two daughters, Mrs. M.O. Wall and Mrs. W.W. Snyder. She leaves to mourn her loss, the husband, two daughters, three grandaughters [should have been "three grandsons"], and numerous friends. She has been a good mother and a kind and helpful friends and neighbor, especially in sickness. The funeral was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.W. Snyder, Feb. 3, Rev. Chas. H. Searles officiating, burial at Coddingville."
