Brian was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on March 3, 1948. He was the son of Lennabelle (Gracia) and Ernest F. Redfern. He was married to Gail C. Grandon. He was a disabled Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He served with the 101st Airborne Division, and in 1970, was awarded the Air Medal for distinguished and meritorious achievement while participating in 50 aerial missions over hostile territory.
He died in Chester State Forest on May 5, 1984, and was buried in New Cemetery, Southwick, Massachusetts, on May 8, 1984. He had two sons, Brian A. Jr. and Christopher W. Redfern.
