Cloyse L. Kirby, age 88, of Owosso, peacefully passed away at Welcome Home Assisted Living surrounded by family on the evening of Saturday July 6, 2019.

Cloyse was born in Owosso on Feb 25, 1931 to Milo and Grace (Morley) Kirby. He graduated from Owosso High School in 1950.

Cloyse married Lorraine M. Bowles on Sept 25, 1955 and they had three children together as they lived their lives in Owosso. Cloyse loved to play baseball and bowl as a child and young adult. He served in the
US Army during the Korean War.

In 1993, Cloyse retired from A&P Grocery stores after 43 years working in practically every area of the store. During retirement Cloyse enjoyed going on occasional fishing trips, attending his grandchildren's
sporting events, and most of all he enjoyed sitting in his rocking chair reading his magazines and "meditating".

Cloyse was predeceased by his parents, Milo and Grace Kirby; his brothers Lyle and Kent Kirby.

Cloyse is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lorraine. His Son Jeff (Christine) Kirby of Delaware, OH. His daughter, Tina Corbin of Manassas, Va. His daughter Lisa (Robert) Meihls of Corunna. He also has 5 grandchildren; Brandon Corbin, Emily Meihls, Lindsay Corbin, Jeffrey Meihls and John Meihls.

The family will receive friends from 12 pm – 2 pm at Nelson-House Funeral Home in Owosso on Tuesday July 9, 2019 with funeral service following at 2 pm. Pastor Cal Emerson will officiate the services.
Interment will follow at Pine Tree Cemetery in Corunna.

The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to The Staff of Welcome Home Assisted Living and to Kindred Hospice Care. They both provided Cloyse with exceptional care during his stay.
