Lewis Coleman Van Hooser, 69, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at his home surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.

Lewis was a resident of Rhea County for 40 years. He was a 1967 graduate of Tracy City High School. Lewis worked for TVA at Watts Bar and retired as a unit operator at the Kingston Steam Plant. He loved all sports and especially Rhea County football. Lewis's passion was cars especially Corvettes. Lewis was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father J. B. Van Hooser, grandparents Walter M. and Julia Hannah Barron Ledbetter and Sam and Etta Van Hooser and former wife Sharon Van Hooser.

Survivors include his wife and life partner for 31 years, Donna Cawood Van Hooser of Spring City, mother Mary Nell Sullivan of Chattanooga, children Michelle (Jimmy Howard) Van Hooser of Evensville, Cole (Carole) Van Hooser of Flowery Branch, Georgia, brothers Wayne Van Hooser of Tracy City, Nathan (Carole) Van Hooser of Dalton, Georgia and Gerald Van Hooser of Chattanooga, special granddaughter Kyndell (Cody) Van Hooser-Mansel, grandchildren Grace, Trey, William and Miles Van Hooser, Donna Kay and Dana Howard, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, extended family members and special friends.

Funeral services are Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Pastor Jane Petitt and Dr. Roger Rothwell officiating. Interment will be in the Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Clair United Methodist Church, c/o Vaughn Funeral Home, P. O. Box 129, Spring City, TN 37381.
