Clarence Roger Roberts, 99, of Roanoke, died at his home on Wednesday, December 1, 1999.
Born in Holland Patent, N.Y., in 1900, "Keeze" was the son of the late Frank Kent Roberts and Mary Elizabeth Jones Roberts.
He graduated in 1922 from the Veterinary College at Cornell University and practiced veterinary medicine in Morrisville and Norwich, N.Y. He joined Sheffield Farms Company as a veterinary field inspector and worked his way to the presidency of the company in 1950. Sheffield was owned by National Dairy Corporation, and they appointed him President of Sealtest Foods in 1960.
Dr. Roberts moved to Leonia, N.J., in 1930 and lived there with his wife, Florence Kingsbury Roberts, for 66 years prior to moving to Brandon Oaks in Roanoke in 1996.
As a resident of Leonia, he served for many years on the local school board, as a bank director and as a dedicated Red Cross volunteer.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Florence, their three children, Kent, Doris, and Bruce, two daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Salem Presbyterian Church at the corner of Main and Market Street on Saturday, December 4. Burial will be in Holland Patent, N.Y. Roanoke Times, VA, Dec. 3, 1999

Arrangements were entrusted by John Martin Oakey & Son Funeral Home, 305 Roanoke Boulevard, Salem, VA 24153. A memorial service was officiated on Saturday, December 4, 1999 in the Salem Presbyterian Church, 41 East Main Street, Salem, VA 24153. Interment followed in Holland Patent.
