He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean Clemins-Abshire; children, Donald Eugene Abshire Jr., Elizabeth Renee Abshire-Jefferies, Melissa Ann Abshire-Helmandollar & husband Ricky Helmandollar, & Larry Keith Jr.; grandchildren, Shane Abshire, Dillon Helmandollar, Carlee Helmandollar and Zachary Jefferies; brothers, David Ray Abshire Sr. & Keith Douglas Abshire.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 13, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road, Princeton with Earlene Clemins speaking.
