Elizabeth Starr, died near Selea, Huntingdon county, on August 22 at the age of 88 years. Samuel Charlton, her grandfather on her mother's side, immigrated from Ireland some time before 1770 and settled in Franklin county (Cumberland at that time), where he engaged in farming till the Indians became hostile, causing him to flee to McCords fort, near Roxbury, for protection until the hostility of the Indians abated, after which he emigrated with his family, through the wilderness, running the risk of being pounced upon by the Indians at any moment, to Little Aughwick, near what is now Maddensville, where he warranted a tract of land in 1770, on which he lived the remainder of his life.
