Clara Elizabeth Jones, of Mosheim, passed away peacefully Thursday morning at the home of her son, Kip.
She was the wife of Oscar Dyer Jones, having celebrated 50 years of marriage on Jan. 26.
She was the daughter of the late Sydney and Maria Freshour.
Survivors are two sons and a daughter: Kip Jones and wife, Tyann, of Mosheim, Tony Jones and his companion, Susie Harrison, of Chuckey, and Angie Jones of Mosheim; grandchildren: Dustin and Ashley Jones, Aaron and Brandi Jones, Nikki Jones, Ashley Jones, Megan Jones and her companion, Chris Turner, Jaiden Jones, Faith Evans and Brett, Luke and Jacob Turner; great-grandchildren: Olivia Wickline, Gracie Jones, Kalli, Emma and Cooper Jones, and Cameron and Brianna Turner; one sister and brother-in-law: Mary and Don Macon: one brother and sister-in-law: Jimmy and Vickie Freshour; a sister-in-law: Joanne Williams: a brother-in-law and spouse: John and Wilma Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special former daughter-in-law: Lisa Vine.
Lovingly known as Mamaw, her most precious days were spent helping to raise her grandchildren. Her favorite saying to them, "scooty poot," will be forever cherished.
The family expressed their gratitude to the staffs of Signature HealthCARE of Greeneville, Davita Dialysis Center, Greene County EMS, and Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for the care and support during her final days.
As per her wishes, Mrs. Jones will be cremated with no formal visitation.
The Cremation Society of Northeast Tennessee is in charge of arrangements.
