Katherine "Kay" Frances Baranski, 78, of Center Line, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at home. She was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Portage, Pa.

Mrs. Baranski was a homemaker known as a wonderful cook and baker. She dedicated her life to taking care of her two special needs children.

Surviving are children, Julia Baranski of Center Line, Mary (Paul) Baranski-Matijow of Almont, and Jacqueline (David) Ham of Ann Arbor; five grandchildren, Melissa Baranski, Kayla Matijow, Stephen Matijow, Caroline Ham and Emmaline Ham; and siblings, Jane Dyda of Royal Oak, Anna Pieprzyk of Warren, Frances Taylor of Sterling Heights, John Rykala Sr. of New York, N.Y., and Theresa Hallow of Annapolis, Md.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; son, Michael Baranski; and sisters, Mary Bonamassa, Helen Cafaro, Josephine Mihalko and Rosalie Wyborski.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Clement Catholic Church, 25320 Van Dyke; burial, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today and 2-8 p.m. Monday at Rudy Funeral Home, 25650 Van Dyke, Center Line;
