Tom and Linda Lyon were married on May 5, 1962, in Wichita, KS.
Tom was a firefighter for the Boulder Fire Department from 1968 until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Loveland.
Tom was a kind and caring man. He had a great sense of humor. His grandkids love to tease him and he loved to tease them back. His family lovingly called him "The Walking Book of Knowledge" because he seemed to always know the answer to their questions. Didn't matter the subject.
He loved watching the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies play. He also loved to go fishing, camping and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed taking family and friends back to Oklahoma to show them where the good fishing was. He also lived spending time with his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his wife, Linda of Johnstown, CO; son, Jim (Stacy) Allen of Westminster, CO; daughter, Suzy (John) Stinn of Loveland, CO; grandchildren, Madison and Sheridan Allen, Joshua and Shane Stinn, and Sarah and Nick Kupec; great-granddaughter, Ivy Stinn; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Eckhardt; and mother and father-in-law, Marjorie and Oren Lyon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fallen Fire Fighter Foundation, 2130 Priest Bridge Dr., Suite 6, Crofton, MD 21114.--Allnut Funeral Home
