Jerry Lee Ping, 54 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019 at his home.
Jerry was born in Somerset, Kentucky on October 17th, 1965, son of the late Andrew J. and Blanche Meece Ping. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed fishing, working on cars, trucks, boats, lawn mowers, and loved to watch wrestling.
Jerry was survived by two sons, Jeremy Ping and Mike (and Aleshia) Ping; one daughter, Kayla (and Russell) Brasfield; three brothers, Buddy Ping, Sam (and Katie) Ping, and Floyd (and P.J,) Ping; two sisters, Violet Franklin and Elizabeth Phelps; eight grandchildren, Sophie Brasfield, Gracii Ping, Olivia Brasfield, Forrest Brasfield, Ashlynn Ping, Wesley Ping, Callen Brasfield, and Savannah Ping; a very close friend, David Hall, who was like family to him; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Ping, who departed this life on February 4th, 1979 and Blanche Meece Ping, who departed this life May 20th, 1974; one brother, Robert Ping, who departed this life on December 19th, 2008; and one sister, Janice Ping, who departed this life on March 20th, 1956.
Visitations were held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25th, 2019 at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25th, 2019 in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Wilson officiating.
Full Military Honors were conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard Post# 38.
Burial followed in the Piney Grove United Baptist Cemetery.
