Ada Roseann (Bagwell) Majors was born on May 4, 1921 in Mount Herman, Tennessee, the daughter of Milton Wesley Bagwell (1876–1943) and Margaret "Maggie" (Shelby) (Teasley) Bagwell (1885–1928) and was the 11th of twelve children = Oscar, James, Cornelia, Roy, Johnny, Delia, Augusta, Delilah, Lena, Maggie, Ada and Milton Jr.
She grew up in Clarksville in Montgomery County, where she attended school, and she was married on January 27, 1943 to Ross Manuel "R M" Majors Jr (1920-1986).
Ada lived in the same home for approximately 75 years, and it was there that she and her husband raised their children and many grandchildren. Ada was also a dedicated member of Saint Paul A M E Church and served on the church's usher board.
She was 98 years old when she passed away, surrounded by family members, on July 13, 2019.
Mrs. Ada Majors was preceded in death by her husband Ross Manuel Majors Jr; daughter, Thelma Jean; grandsons Scottie Foston and Thomas Carney Jr; and all of her siblings. She sadly leaves behind four daughters -Wilma Foston, Helen Smith, Gail Whitsey and Quintine (Thomas) Carney; a son - Chester Majors; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; one devoted niece; special friends: Marietta Vicks Hampton, Rev. Anthony Thomas, Jan Beard and Lisa McClain, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Burial was in EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee.
