"William F. Adams, 71, died Monday in a nursing home at 2900 Kendallwood Parkway, Gladstone, where he lived. He was born in Boonville, Mo. [sic], and had lived in the Kansas City area most of his life. Mr. Adams had been a painter for the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. for 30 years before he retired in 1974. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Avondale Senior Citizens Club. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Emma Adams of the home; two sons, Ronald M. Adams of Honolulu and William H. Adams of Peoria, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Pat Ford and Mrs. Lucille McNeary of Kansas City; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel; burial in East Slope Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, May 9, 1984
