Deansboro—Wilfred D. Ingersoll, American Legion commander of Oneida County in 1928 will receive full military honors.

Word was received here yesterday of the death of Mr. Ingersoll in a Government hospital at Whipple Barracks, Ariz., Saturday, as a result of an incipient malady contracted after a fall from a horse while in training at Plattsburg in1917, as a member of Battalion A, First New York Field Artillery.

Mr. Ingersoll was unable to recover complete from the illness resulting from the fall, and last year was moved to a hospital near Pittsburgh, Pa., later being transferred to the Arizona institution.

The remains will be brought to Utica Thursday morning, and will be brought to his home here. Funeral Friday will be private, with only members of the immediate family and legionnaires present.

County Commander John E. Fitzsimmons, Blossvale, has announced members of Utica Post. No. 229, under Commander Nicholas E. Devereux Jr., and Irving Thurston, will conduct the legion services. A firing squad from the local unit of the National Guard, and a bugler from the post's drum and bugle corps will assist. Interment will be at Constantia.

Mr. Ingersoll was born at Bernard's Bay, June 25, 1897. He came to Deansboro at an early age. He received his education in Utica Free Academy, and was prominent in athletics. In 1924, he married Marion F. Bailey, Deansboro. He had held the position of cashier in the First National Bank of Oriskany Falls. He had been a member of Utica Post of the legion since its inception, and had held the office of county treasurer in 1927. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Besides his wife, who was with him in Arizona, he leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Ingersoll; a son, Robert, and two brothers, DeForest and Norman, Deansboro.
