Obituary for William Jackson Kite Jr

William Jackson Kite, Jr., 85, of Statesville, died Friday, March 22, 2019 at his home. Born in Fayetteville, N.C. on May 26, 1933, he was a son of the late William Jackson Kite, Sr. and Flora Mae Lawson Kite. He was a retired Lutheran minister and graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University and Southern Lutheran Seminary in Columbia, S.C.

On March 1, 1955, he married the former Barbara Conner who survives. Also surviving are his children: Karen Kite Cline (Clayton), Lindon Kite, Christopher Kite, Renee’ Kite Feimster (Bruce) and Dean Kite (Melissa). Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Reformation Lutheran Church in Taylorsville with Pastor Ed Thomas and Pastor Craig Sigmon officiating. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
