Tony lived in Chicago in his early years later moving to Antioch where he attended Antioch Community High School and graduated early. At age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving from 1979-1982, as an Ammunition Specialist, E4 during the Lebanon -Granada conflict.
Throughout his life Tony had many ventures including owning a pizza shop and a night club. He also worked as a financial advisor and a real estate investor. Tony held an active role as the finance officer of the American Legion Post 544, and was an advocate for veterans affairs. He was very active with politics and had an passion for preserving his culture and put an exuberant amount of time into tracing his family heritage as his legacy. His family and their time spent together was his greatest importance.
Natale is survived by his wife of 38 years, Erika; Children, Nicole (Brad) Yandura, Danielle (Steven) Szilva, Anthony (Marina) Abbate; grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Ariana Yandura, Mila, Antonino Abbate; father, Antonino Abbate; sisters, Paula (Terry) Aide, Josephine (Kevin) Meinke; brother, John (Dawn) Abbate; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Luigi Abbate.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug 2nd, 2019 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove, IL 60081.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, August 3rd, 10: 00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 557 Lake Street, Antioch, IL.
