Daniel Leonard Borrusch was born Dec. 16, 1950, to Dean and Kay Borrusch. He died on November 13, 2007. He had been living in Lakewood and Morrison, Colorado.

Dan attended school in Jefferson, Iowa until moving his junior year of high school. As a boy, he was mentioned in the Jefferson newspaper as an altar boy at the wedding of Mara Straumanis and Michael Figenshaw at St. Thomas More Chapel and for Little League in 1961. Later, he was noted for his basketball and baseball stats in high school. He was a guard on the boys' basketball team that played in the state tournament in 1967.

Dan graduated from Lincoln High School in Denver, Colorado. He served in the Marine Corps in communications.

He was married for over 20 years and had one son. He was a truck driver for J. C. Penney, had his own business (a sub shop and pizza parlor), and did painting for custom homes in Denver.

A relative reported that Dan had heart problems and died of a heart attack. He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant sister, Rebecca in 1951.
