KEVIN ROBERT BURNS

Kevin Robert Burns, 55, a man after God’s own heart, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018, in his home, surrounded by family. Always in the pursuit of excellence, Kevin leaves a lasting legacy by having faithfully served his family, his community, his work and his church. Kevin is survived by his best friend and wife of 24 years, Jervetta Burns; sons, Anthony and Kenneth (mother, Anna T. Burns). In addition, Kevin is survived by his mother, Velma Burns; sisters, Phyllis Major (Sam) and Natalie Broyles (David); nephews, Blaine Moates and John Broyles; niece, Kelsey Burns; and future daughter-in-law, Katherine (Kenneth Burns). Kevin also leaves a host of dedicated family, friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his father, Air Force Captain John R. Burns. Kevin absolutely demonstrated unwavering faith and exemplified the verse from 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many that have shown their love and support. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Richmond Community Church, 11801 Nuckols Rd., Glen Allen Va. 23059.
