Bessie Murphy was the mother of Merle Dalbert Murphy, who was born 23 NOV 1911, and died in Pinellas County, Florida 10 DEC 1985. She was also the mother of Max Farris Murphy, who was born 7 SPB 1914, and died in Sutter County, California 5 JUL 1981.

Obituary Macomb Daily Journal , April 10, 1919
"Mrs. C.M. Murphy and Mrs. Luella Barnes went to Blandinsville this morning to attend the funeral services of Mrs. Clarence Murphy who died Monday night at St. Mary's Hospital, St. Louis. Death was caused by influenza and after effects. Her husband and two children Merle and Max survive, also her mother, Mrs. Henry Sevedge."

Oddly, Mrs. Murphy's death certificate, which lists her residence as 4948 Gresham, St. Louis, lists her cause of death as tuberculous peritonitis, with a contributory cause of death of obstruction of bowels-- a disorder very similar to that which killed her mother three years later. There is no apparent monument for Mrs. Murphy, but it is believed she was buried with her parents.
