Sedan – Clara Belle Wallace, age 87, of Sedan, Kansas passed away, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Sedan City Hospital in Sedan, Kansas.

Clara Belle was born on June 19, 1932 in rural Sedan, Kansas to Joseph Dye and Minnie Belle (Tannahill) Dye. She grew up in Sedan attended St. Charles School and graduated from Sedan High School in 1951.

On February 26, 1955 she married L. Dale Wallace in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They lived most of their life in Chautauqua County. Dale preceded her in death on March 15, 2015.

Clara worked for the Chautauqua County Health Department for many years as a Home Health Aide and also cooked at the School for several years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sedan. She loved her family and especially her kids and grandkids; she also enjoyed cooking and baking.

Clare is survived by two sons, Kent Wallace and wife Mary of Port Neches, Texas and Vent Wallace and wife Deanne of Dickinson, North Dakota; two grandsons, Casey Wallace of Port Neches, Texas and Brandon Wallace of Grand Forks, North Dakota; one great-granddaughter, Lachlan Wallace and Rita Hebb, the daughter she never had.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, three brothers, Russell, Virgil, and Delbert, and three sisters, Blossom Weaver, Betty Tate, and Mary Alford and her parents.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas with Reverend Mark Davis of the First Baptist Church officiating.

The casket will be closed and friends may sign the register book on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Dickens Family Funeral Home in Sedan.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to the Kenny McNown Medical Fund or the First Baptist Church and remembrances may be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
