Mildred was the daughter of Edgar Otto Roberts and Willie Holloway. A native of Red River County, Texas, as was her father and her grandfather Jim Stiles Roberts who was born and died in Clarksville, Texas.
Mildred married John Crooks Birkhead January 4, 1941 in Red River County, Texas. They were the parents of two boys and two girls. Beverly Ann was born premature and only lived one day.
After John died in 1976 she married Herbert Carpenter. Herb Carpenter died in 1985 and in 1990, Mildred married Burton Allison. They were married until his death in 1998.
