Harry Gross, 80, American Stores Retiree

Harry W. Gross, 80, of 84 Front St., Belvidere, N. J., died yesterday at his home after an illness of three months.

Born in Belvidere, he was a son of the late John and Barbara Kurtz Gross. [Correction:Kurz]

Mr. Gross retired in 1954 from the American Stores Co where he was employed 30 years.

He was a member and deacon of the United Presbyterian Church, Belvidere. He was a 50 year member and past master of Warren Lodge 13. F&AM. Belvidere and a 50 year member of Crescent Temple, Trenton and the Goodwill Fire Co, Belvidere.

He also was a member of Lehigh Consistory, Allentown; West Jersey Shrine Club; Warren County Historical Society; Retail Clerks and Managers Union, Local 1361; West Jersey Motor Club and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Mr. Gross and his wife, the former Louise Currie, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last February.

Survivors include two grandsons. A son, H. Charles Gross, died Jan. 17, 1962.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the MacFadden Funeral Home, Belvidere. Interment will be in Belvidere Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home by Warren Lodge.
