REEDSVILLE - Helen Virginia Adkins, 77, of Reedsville, died Thursday, June 16, 2005, at her home.

She was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Raleigh County, a daughter of the late Ernest A. and Nora Jane (Weiss) Patrick.

She was a member of the Manown Church. She worked for Sterling Faucet, at Altman's in Kingwood with her husband as an assistant manager, and most recently retired from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources as a social worker. She was always busy helping family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Badie Bracken Adkins; three sons and spouses, Clinton and Judy, Stanley, all of Reedsville and Brent and Glenna of Masontown; a daughter and spouse, Kathy and Donnie Murray, of Reedsville; a brother, Ceci Patrick of Jumping Branch; two sisters, Mary Shrader of Shady Springs and Alice Nelson of North Carolina; and seven grandchildren, Cheryl Dawn, Kelly Lynn and Joshua Ryan Murray, Brent Kristen, Scott Patrick, Sarah Beth and Charlotte Ann Adkins.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Dew and June Shrader; and an infant brother.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home, Reedsville.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Freeland officiating. Interment will follow in Morgan Memorial Park.
