Benjamin served in Captain Wm. Beacon's Minute Man company in 1775 during the Revolutionary War. He also served in '76.'77,'80 and is listed as being in the 13th Regiment of the Albany Company. He came to New York on foot, from Sheffield, Massachusetts in 1797. He was a carpenter and with Wm. Harmon, built the first framed house in Auburn. He purchased 300 acres of Military Lot 12 in Shepard Settlement. His home was on Hoyt Road. Silas Bush his son, was born April 4, 1812.
