Final rites for Odelle C. Harris, pioneer Amarillo grocer who died Friday morning in Northwest Texas Hospital, will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in First Baptist Church, with Dr. J. Howard Williams, Dallas, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at N.S. Griggs & Sons Chapel until one hour before services. The casket will not be opened at the church.

Harris, 63 years old, 1504 Travis, had been a resident of Amarillo since 1909. With his father, the late J.H. Harris, and a brother, the late Willard Harris, he was in the grocery business for many years, operating as many as 10 stores at one time in Amarillo, Pampa and Borger.

The Harris Food Stores here were the last chain of groceries to be operated by the father-sons partnership. The partnership sold its last store in 1945.

Mr. Harris also operated a ranch near Clayton, N.M., and in recent years had devoted much of his attention to the ranch. A son, J.T. Harris, lives on the ranch.

In addition to the son, survivors include two other sons, Odelle S. "Jim Tom" Harris and Robert Harris, both of Amarillo; his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Harris; a sister, Mary McCormic, Denton; and a daughter, Mrs. L.P. Babb, Jr., Amarillo.

Mr. Harris was a member of the Gideon Bible Class of the First Baptist Church here, and was a member of the New Mexico Cattle Growers Association.
