Carter Sommers, 17, of Richmond, passed away November 7, 2018. He is survived by mother, Renita Sommers; father, Stephen Sommers; brother, Taylor Sommers; half-brother, Stephen V. Sommers, Jr.; half-sisters, Allison Whitney, Darby Rose and Savannah Grace Sommers; step brother, Johnathan Ulloa Terrell; step mother, Sandra Ulloa; and maternal grandmother, Evelyn Lorenzen Tinsman. Carter was a sweet, giving young man. Always there to help a friend in need, anytime of the day or night. He loved fast cars, loud trucks and music, and was never someone to shy away from a difficult situation and hold a needed hand. A true family guy who put his family first. Carter attended St. Christopher’s School and was a junior at Douglas Freeman High School, and was known for his trademark wild red hair that was usually kept under a ball cap. The family will receive friends 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 11 at Bliley’s-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A church ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 12 at Saint Stephens Episcopal, 6000 Grove Ave. A graveside will be held at 4 p.m. at Modern Burying Ground at Foundation for Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Rd., Weems, Va., 22576.
